Safety Hero Awards At CSV

The Children's Safety Village of Windsor and Essex County is proud to introduce a new initiative that will recognize local young people for their acts of heroism. Our educational facility provides hands-on safety training to children and youth throughout the area with support from police, fire, and ambulance services. Our mission is to be the center of excellence in safety training.

The first annual "Safety Hero Awards" is designed for nominees 17 years of age and younger, that have called 911 for assistance or otherwise demonstrated their bravery in an emergency situation. When a child or teen is able to appropriately respond during traumatic or terrifying situations, they are often using the information and skills gained through safety training.

We hope you will lend your support to this worthwhile endeavour by asking the professionals in your field to nominate worthy candidates. Nominees will receive a 'Certificate of Recognition', while selected finalists will be honoured during an awards ceremony to be held in November 2006.

Please join us in recognizing these very special and courageous young people in our community by nominating them for the first annual "Safety Hero Awards".
